A Gifted Gift

Among the birthday gifts we gave granddaughter Z last month were a bag of mixed beads for her projects and a tiny bag of single earrings that I'd been saving for several years, hoping to find a use for them.

Imagine my delight when we received from her this week not only a long letter to each of us, but also this lovely necklace for me! Z had remembered my comment about my favorite single earring, and made it the centerpiece of the necklace.

Strung on elastic, the necklace is a perfect length, and the bright, beautifully-chosen colors will be a welcome addition to the dark tops I tend to wear.

It also makes a colorful Blip subject on a gray day with unceasing rain!

(I chuckled at her P.S. in my letter: "Make sure Grandpa writes back right away.")
