Castle in the clouds

We have had a lovely relaxing lazy day looking around Banff. After a great brunch at Ricky's All Day Grill we strolled around the shops and had a nice walk along the river. We then drove to the Surprise Corner lookout which offers amazing views of the hotel we are staying in set in its forest landscape with the mountains behind. We also visited the Bow Valley Falls but they weren't that impressive.

The hotel we are staying in was opened in 1888 and has an amazing historyand over 700 rooms. We decided to make use of the facilities and spent the afternoon in the pool area. There is something very special about being in an outdoor heated pool when it starts to snow!
