Sydney

Up early, very early, 3.30am to catch our flight. The upside being that we arrived in Sydney at 7.30am, so had the whole day, albeit a little tired!

Dropped Mrs PS off at her conference, then wandered to our nearby hotel and checked in. Very nice, Four Points/Sheraton at darling harbour. No view from our room sadly.

And then out into the city. First up, a stroll along Darling harbour, then Paddys Market, then around Chinatown. Very cool, and found the most awesome and cheap "hole in the wall" for lunch. Dimsums to die for.

Back to the hotel do catch up on some work and out again in a different direction mid-afternoon. First stop, the Apple store. Now, I've obviously hear of the stores and know they were cool, but I wasn't prepared 3 levels, packed with gear, but more interestingly, loads of people, including 300 staff! Sydney apparently is in the top 10 of most visited Apple Stores. It's amazing. And yes, this photo is the building it's in.

Down to Circular Key, a look around, a walk across the Harbour Bridge, back to the hotel briefly, then out for a drink and dinner with a couple of team form work who are across here at a different conference.

Drinks at bar in darling harbour, then dinner at a great Indian restaurant looking back over the harbour to the city.

Very very interesting to be in a big city again, given we don't have one in Christchurch. Big buildings, very cool places, and a real vibrant community. Not to say Christchurch isn't vibrant, it certain is, but it's a different vibrant.

No photo of the Opera House or Bridge? No, it's more interesting to me to see big buildings ;-)
