Oh poor squirrel! Is it that dreadful virus?

Today I spent a lot of time phoning around trying to find out what to do. I thought it might be the virus that kills the reds. Eventually I talked to someone with a lot of red squirrel experience. I told her that the squirrel was eating non stop, and she said that was a good sign. Also the loss of hair was just round the middle of his body, and it looks like mange. With relief it appears it is mites causing the problem, and tomorrow with assistance we hope to catch him and put some powder or spray on him to get rid of the mites. Blondie arrived as well and he is so sleek, and I just hope he doesn't catch the mites and lose his lovely coat.
