Tones and Shades
Last week I met a lass called Kay at sangha who was well interesting. She was a photographer who did mostly landscapes but also loved doing walls because of the amazing variety of textures they have. Inspired, I decided to go a walk down by the river tonight with the express aim finding a cool textured wall. I'm at the heart of where the industrial revolution began so there's lots of old mill foundations and ruins dotted about.
What humans can produce, nature tends to do better and I thought this cliff face was particularly interesting. In the words of Mr Milligan my first proper art teacher at Mussi Grammar..."tones and shades boy....tones and shades". He was right.....light and texture is what is needed to get interesting tones and shades.
So to my day. I am reviewing some of my own work just now which is a bit boring. There were quite a few interesting distractions though which were enough to keep me going for the day. I came the long way home on the bike as it was a nice night....still not feeling good on the bike and have a bit of a wheezy chest. Although it seems trivial, I have been feeling crap since the Tour of the Meldons at Easter so will defo go to the Dr's. I had a phone call to make to an athlete I'm working with but discovered that I must have left my phone in the office. Skype wasn't an option so I emailed him (fortunately picked up immediately) and went out for a walk instead.
