Island Van Brienenoord
This flower deserves it to be seen in large
In Rotterdam we've the May holidays. The day started with sunshine, a light cloud cover and a pleasant temperature of 18°C.
We spent the day largely on the island of Van Brienenoord. The island is partly situated under the bridge Van Brienenoord. A narrow draw bridge connects the island with the mainland.
The island is not inhabited, but there is a field with allotment gardens and in the months May to October some Highland cattle is grazing freely across the island.
What remains is a large nature reserve with a rich diversity of water birds and wild plants. From the pictures I made today I chose this white dead-nettle, illuminated by the soft sunlight, as my blip for today ... ;)
