Royal visitors
The Queen and Prince Philip were in the area yesterday and today and all the narrow lane junctions along the main road for some miles were filled with small groups of country people waving their flags to catch a glimpse of the royal car as it flashed by on its way to the next port of call.
There was a party atmosphere with coffee and biscuits and local people clutching flags. At 86 the Queen is still working hard bringing a ray of sunshine into the day of children and the elderly and anyone else who happens to be there. No let up, she will work until she drops. Tomorrow morning she will be at Windsor at a presentation ceremony looking as bright as a new pin.
