if it bleeds
Whilst some trees wait until their leaves are completely desiccated, shrivelled and utterly dead before dropping them some seem to favour dumping them when they're still plump, moistly fat and still half-full of lovely chlorophyll. I wouldn't mind (and I'm sure the ground occasionally needs some magnesium-replenishment) but fallen leaves (particularly the large, unshrivelled ones) occasionally harbour filthy secrets beneath them such as unpleasantnesses emitted by dogs. Leaves which seem to be resting a little bit above ground level look particularly suspicious but this one was just balanced on some stones.
