A day of contrasts....

It's been a beautiful day today so Mr B drove us to Oradour Sur Glane. It's a memorial village (for want of a better way to describe it) preserved in time so we don't forget. The SS killed 642 men, women & children in June 1944. I didn't find it a sad, melancholy place (as I expected). It made me feel full of hope. It's alive with birdsong & lizards basking in the sun. It feels like a fitting tribute to the people who lost their lives & a poignant symbol of the futility of war.

My blip is a boss in the church I really like. The hole to the right is a bullet hole.
