Leopard, Yala National Park, Sri Lanka (Mahoora)

Well before dusk approached almost all of the vehicles in the park began the long way back to the park entrance. I was on a Mahoora Luxury Tented Safari in the leopard rich area of Talgasmanakada. We did not have to make a mad dash to the park gates. As we leisurely back to the camp, this magnificent battle scarred male appeared out of the thorn scrub and crossed to the edge of the Gonalabbe Plain. It took cover behind some sparse thorn bushes and studied the animals on the plain. We left it as we needed to be back at camp before sunset.
