We had a lovely walk up in the woods. The girls were in good spirits, chatting and laughing. Rowan continued her campaign to dye her hair and I continued to resist. We are all having our hair cut later and I'm sure it will come up again then. I look at her now and see a young woman emerging. She's full of ideas and wants and creativity. Sometimes she puts on too much make up (badly) and sometimes she tries to straighten her hair (which no amount of heat will make sleek). She can lose herself in a book for hours and must burrow under her duvet before she can sleep. She is big hearted, sensitive and often fraught with all the anxieties that accompany girls as they grow older. She'll be fine though, I have no doubt. She has good friends and a mother who will keep a very close eye..... ;)
