A small giant
This blip was taken at Liverpool King's Dock as part of the Sea Odyssey 2012 event. The giant is a representation of May McMurray, a 10 year old girl from Liverpool who wrote a letter to her father who was to board the Titanic. He never recieved the letter. Theatre company Royal de Luxe have taken this story and given it a different ending whereby the girls uncle returns from searching the wreck of the Titanic with a letter from her father. It's a very lovely story.
This event was the largest street theatre ever to occur in the UK; it was breathtaking and spinetingly awesome. There were thousands of people there and it was difficult to get good shots. This blip is of the girl dancing in the air with the Anglican Cathedral just visable in the background. It is difficult to get a sense of scale with the size of the giants but this blip is the one I have chosen. A little girl, dancing in mid air, lost in the moment.
