Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

Nose First!

Avery and Elliette are not a bit afraid of the pool. No, they let me be the one afraid that they might fall in. This afternoon they both did a little ballet on the edge of the pool as a honey-bee floated just a little way from the edge, but definitely over the water. The pups were so interested in getting their noses stung; I was sure we'd be "fishing" two pups from the pool.

Thankfully they are learning the fine art of balance and neither one fell in. Hopefully when the weather becomes more summer-like these two can come back with their flip-flops, trunks, and bikini to go swimming with us because they certainly would be game for that.

If they are missing their mom and dad, no one would ever know. At moments, a very few of them, but at moments, they seem a little bewildered, but overall they fit in here just like they belong. When I plop-down on the sofa, they jump right onto my lap. Little Chloe, who thinks I was put on earth for her, gets so angered when Avery and Elliette climb all over me and especially when they pile onto my lap and Chloe is already "enthroned" there.

I can't remember a dull moment today . . . commotion and noise (little growls, high pitched barks, and collars jingling) where on the marque all day. But the sound they love and the one that captures their attention is falling kibble landing in their ceramic bowl. Everyone stands at attention when that sound vibrates their eardrums.

Now, though, they've got their jammies on, everyone is holding their blanket, and they are waiting for me to sign-off here so we can run as fast as possible up the stairs to the bed houses with the soft cushy material and the Sandman waiting to greet each of us. So, hey, we're outta here!

Good night for the last Saturday in April from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun, and 5 pooches -- 2 are just visiting), aka Carol

P.S. These two little weenie dogs will be gone home with their mom & dad by this time tomorrow evening. Then "normal" can reside here again, but I'm not sure that "normal" ever arrives here. Sheeeeeesh!
