Big Blue

I think the wind today must have been coming straight from the Arctic as it was icy cold this morning with a dusting of fresh snow on the mountains of Arran.

A good day for doing the garden and getting all the gardening equipment out of the garage and into the new shed. And joy of joys, I could actually see the sit-on mower again and after a few hours clearing everything from around it, got it out to cut the grass. What a difference, the grass was cut in half the time it takes with the walk behind mower!

More new sights and sound of late Spring with the Sandpipers having returned. They nested not far from our house last year and it was wonderful seeing and hearing the young chicks. Hopefully they will nest again. I took the camera with me when I went to see where the Sandpipers were and was amazed at how blue the sky was. It must be the clear cold air and the angle of the sun in late afternoon that makes it so blue. The clouds were that stunning I was tempted to blip them on their own. However I liked them even better against the blue and white of the boat, which is the first of the season to go onto a mooring.

Out tonight for a retirement/farewell meal for the local gamekeeper who is heading south with his wife. The restaurant is even closer to Arran than our house so the views as the sun sets should be wonderful. It would be bad manners to disappear in the middle of the meal to take a few shots, so its a slightly earlier blip than normal!
