Warning: this blip contains significant amounts of football

Tidying up in the house and a load of old football programmes surfaced. Picked this one as it is the closest date to this weekend, thirty years ago. That can't be right, can it? Thirty years ago? I was in first year at Durham Uni and got the train down to Leeds to see Leeds play Stoke. Both teams were struggling at the wrong end of the table. Quite possibly the worst game I've ever seen finished 0-0. I'm sure one of the Monday papers rated both teams at 0/10.
Interesting to look at the programme - price 30p for a team still in the top division.

Makes me want to do a 'where did they end up?' list of the Leeds players.
John Lukic - left Leeds in 1983 to go to Arsenal, won the league with them in 1989 season, when they won in the last game of the season as feature in the film Fever Pitch. Moved back to Leeds in tim to win the league with them too. Now a goalkeeping coach.
Trevor Cherry - coming to the end of his Leeds career, left that year and finished his career at Bradford. Became their manager, and was manager the day of the Bradford fire in 1985. Now runs several businesses.
Frank Gray - back at Leeds after a spell with Nottingham Forest (where he won the European Cup medal he lost out on in Paris with Leeds). Moved on to Sunderland and then Darlington. Was managing non-league Basingstoke until earlier this season when he was sacked after poor results.
Brian Flynn - left Leeds to return to Burnley and played for several teams before finishing his career at Wrexham. A Welsh international he had a brief spell as caretaker manager of the national team
Paul Hart - left Leeds to go to Nottingham Forest and also played for Notts County and Sheffield Weds. Several spells of management, without great success, although he had been more successful with youth teams at Leeds and Forest
Kenny Burns - played with Frank Gray at Forest and came to Leeds towards the end of his career. Moved from Leeds to Derby and played on for various non-league teams until he was 40.
Kevin Hird - went from Leeds to Burnley and then on into non-league football. When he signed for Leeds he was the most expensive full-back ever at £375,000
Arthur Graham - joined Leeds from Aberdeen and went on to Man Utd and Bradford. Coaches youngsters now.
Frank Worthington - playboy figure of 1970s football, Leeds was one team among many he played, also going on into his 40s
Eddie Gray - a one-team player, became manager after relegation in 1982. Moved on after narrowly failing to earn promotion in 1985 (losing at Birmingham on the day of a riot there, and the fire at Bradford). Works for local radio in Leeds now.
Peter Barnes - started at Man City and West Brom before Leeds, went on, among other places, to Man Utd. Supposedly now works for Malaysian TV as a footbll pundit.
