I happened upon this lovely sign in the arcade leading to High Street Kensington tube station. After a lovely lunch with a visiting author (who was very excited to tell me that she saw Justin Bieber staying at her hotel; luckily, her room was on the other side so she didn't hear the screaming fans camped out all night) , I looked up and saw the lovely lettering. I'm not sure what the letters MR, DR and AD are, or whether this is 1906 or 1960 - does anyone know?

I did Google it and found this fascinating blog, The Library Time Machine, which has some great photos of Kensington High Street in the 1970s. I can't see the lettering in these photos though.
