Dead Starling

Whilst walking the dog this morning I was inspecting the hedgerows for signs of blooming amongst the hawthorne. Everything was full of spring sunshine and signs of life were everywhere. Suddenly, in direct contrast I came face to face with this. Not quite a skeleton, not quite whole either. A rotting but preserved cadaver. You can still wonder at the beauty of nature though as you could see its various amazingly sculptured body parts, perfectly formed for their job. That aspect has not come out in the photo. I'm afraid, like a typical bad master, I am going to blame my tools for that. Oh for a decent camera!
