The Downtown Lights
Ahhhhh! The sweet satisfaction, knowing that your weekend has started.
Even better when it starts an extra hour early!
Early, because it's a gig night but isn't every-night!.
James Grant, playing in possibly the smallest venue I've ever seen him in. To an audience of 100, in this fledgling club which doubles as a classroom during the day.
If self deprecation ever became an Olympic sport, then Mr Grant would be assured of a gold.
Of course he doesn't mean it really, he just does it to put us at ease.
But when he starts to play, it's that pin drop moment. All eyes and ears are on Jim.
He's joined tonight, by friend and fellow musician, Fraser Spiers, master o the moothie. That's harmonica, for all you educated people.
He's one talented man!
Actually, there are two of them on stage tonight.
Whilst on the subject of talented musicians, Paul Buchanan who sings The Downtown Lights has a solo cd about to be released any day now.
Bring on the live dates!
