Today was a foretaste of days to come; heavy showers, heavy skies and the sun struggling to make an impact. But when it did, it produced an amazing array of deep colours.

Gales are on the way, and tonight may be the first of the season when I stoke up the fire overnight. My feet were cold in bed this morning...... the aged spinster should maybe invest in a bed jacket.

I suppose that that is what some women have a husband for......
