George Square Gardens

I was walking through George Square Gardens this afternoon and took a closer look at this sculpture which is near the south entrance. Can you see the Main Library of the University in the background? Lots of bicycles beside the railings because the students are back for revision and the exams now.

Anyway, getting back to the sculpture, I couldn't find a label or guide and don't know who created this, but I think it's very striking and looks good in the gardens. Does anyone know the name of the artist or this work?

Just back from my beekeeping class which is great. Must remember to order my beekeeping suit tomorrow, so that I can take part in the practical sessions in May.
