Having involuntary donated its lifeless fluffy body to photographic science this afternoon this ex-bee spent a productive hour demonstrating the wonders of macro photography to an enthusiastic group of students. Granted, it may have been gadget geeks Iain and I that were most enthusiastic about setting all this up, but, between bouts of sewing and drawing and what-not, the others did participate to various degrees.
Hopefully the finished result of all this - macro extension tubes sandwiched between a 7D and 28-105mm macro lens steadied on a tripod and remotely firing two flash units wirelessly, tethered to a Macbook Pro running Lightroom that was feeding the shots live out to the TV in full HD - will make an appearance over on Iain's journal.
If we achieved nothing else today we probably discovered a method of slow-cooking insects.
