Surfing in Torquay

This weekend we escaped Melbourne and took the van down to Torquay - at the start of the Great Ocean Road. One of Australia's most famous surf beaches (Bell's Beach) is here...and is the home of the Rip Curl Pro (which features such greats as Kelly Slater). The surf is MASSIVE, so we just watched some of the old-guns for a while, and then headed down the road to Anglesea for some smaller waves.

I was battling a sore throat and cold, so didn't venture in. But Ben wet-suited up and braved the icey waters for a surf.

It was a great weekend, and we hope to get down there more often over the summer :)
