Teddies - not Toddlers - Today.

The stars were in alignment this morning: a slight headache, a dreich day, indoor blip organised, and some new photographic apps on my iPad to play with - oh, and exhaustion from yesterday's toddler and cat stalking - so I was happy to to slummock a-bed with iPad for the first time for ages.

I watched 'Hidden Talent', since you asked. (I know you didn't, but it was so interesting that I'll tell you). During the summer Channel 4 put hundreds of people through an aptitude test, to find who was good at things that were, well, hidden. One grandmother (though she's in her 40s!) discovered she was talented at rock climbing, and another woman was very good at detecting lies. Just made a nice change from the usual 'talent' shows and people exposing embarrassing parts of their bodies. NOT that I watch them! The test is on the website if you'd like to have a go....

I used the camera on my new iPad for today's blip. I must say, it's very disconcerting taking a photo with an iPad. There's no good place to hold it, and I'm terrified of dropping it. I wanted to explore some of the effects on PhotoForge. It's an amazing app, really, for the price.

My blip today is of two knitted teddies. And before you say 'I hadn't put LadyM down as a knitter' I'll admit I didn't couldn't make them. I can still picture my poor, fraught sewing/knitting teacher in Primary 7. And I can't picture any of my other primary school teachers - it was SUCH a long time ago. But I obviously still feel guilty about the poor woman who tried to teach me.

A friend knitted them as part of the Teddies for Tragedies appeal. These teddies are given to children in Third World or war torn countries. Doctors working there have noted that children with their own teddies get better quicker than those who don't. Each child can keep his/ her teddy, so doctors need a continual supply. So of any of you blippers are also knitters, or know a knitter...

Right. Dreichness has lifted on the headache and weather front. I'm off to the pictures. I do want to see both Marley and the Headhunters, but I don't like those wee screens at the Cameo. Can I sit through Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, having read lots of negative reviews?

Of course I can, with a big bag of Maltesers!
