Saint Who?
Dragon!
'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' that is; I'm sure there was a clever marketing campaign somewhere in releasing it on St George's Day but I didn't see a sign of one - still HMV dropped the price for the day which was nice.
This is the new version of the film, and while I do think the Swedish one is better (Noomi Rapace's Lisbeth is superior) I do like Fincher's style and with a few subtle twists in the plot (though none too far from the book) he's made his own cracking version. The music and sound are one of the great parts as well, Fincher has taken great detail and with Trent Raznor on scoring duties (as he was for 'The Social Network') it's a great combination. Also, for a hollywood adaptation, it's worth mentioning that they don't shy away from the brutality of the book and original film - it's not necessarily a good thing to have on screen, but at least it shows a certain respect for the original source that other adaptations have not.
