Street furniture

Cockermouth is a very lovely town and a little while ago the slightly dingey market place was given a make-over. The 'street furniture' attracted rather mixed reactions. There are more of the circular plastic seats in other colours which also appear on the stools which you can just see in front of the green house.
The posts in the front of this picture have pictures of sheep with yan, tan etc. on them.' Yan' is one,' tan' two and these were Cumbrian words used in counting sheep. People in West Cumbria still use 'yan' for 'one'.
