The Trials of Scottish Astrophotography (113/366)
We've had some clear days in Edinburgh recently, but then the clouds roll on in around dusk.
This shot was taken after Mother Nature had thrown a blanket over the sky JUST in time for one of the last ISS passes for six weeks. I mean, within 2 minutes of ISS's arrival over the horizon.
Grr.
Nonetheless, I left the camera outside for a couple of hours, clicking away, and this shot popped up.
Above the bank of cloud in the lower-left quadrant of the image is Mars (the bright starlike dot) nestling up to Leo (the backwards-facing question mark).
These breaks in the cloud are all we seem able to hope for these days.
