Homeward

Whenever you see me take a photo of Mt Cook this means that either we're heading away, or heading home. As I have said before, driving through the Mackenzie is one of my favourite drives anywhere!

So today was all about heading home. We awoke to another beautiful day in Wanaka, had a leisurely brunch, packed and tidied up. Also met the neighbours,. Dan had also done the race I did yesterday and showed me his bike, well, lots of them actually, in what could; be the ultimate blokes shed. He did the 125km on a titanium single speed, in just under 8 hours. What a legend. Really nice guy and interestingly a very prominent family, in both Queenstown and Christchurch, who have been very successful. But you wouldn't know it if you met him, totally genuine bloke.

And then home, slightly deflated. It's been such an awesome week away. But holidays have to end sometime.
