I seem to have acquired a Bengal Encrusted Sofa.

Not many people have one of these, so I am very lucky.

If I was into symmetry, I would be rushing off to get a matching Bengal for the other arm, but the Bengal that I do have seems to work well on other areas of the sofa too.

The original sofa was a gift, from a friend who had been keeping it in a container on his land. He did explain that one or two mice were also using his container. After I'd sewn up the one or two holes that had been nibbled in it, the sofa seemed fine to me. But on reflection I think there might just be the odd drop of mouse juice on it. Before Méabh arrived, I bought a couple of cheap throws to protect it, which are doing a valiant job just now.
