Hang Up Your Shoes

This gives new meaning to hanging up ones shoes. There are these trees that people throw their shoes on...they are called shoe trees. I came across a set of them in Milltown, Indiana at a four way intersection. There were trees onall four corners that contained shoes. It was a sight to behold. I took several photos of them, but liked the closeup of the shoes in the trees.

Not quite sure why people started putting their shoes in the trees, but it has become somewhat of a local legend with the street even being named after these shoe trees.
