Today was my first attempt at cooking in the solar cooker. Things started out pretty nicely at about 9 am, but the sun disappeared and after six hours at 150 degrees, I had to scrap it. Better safe than sorry.
The solar cooker is made out of 100% recycled materials, and once I learn more about how and when to use it, I think it will be a benefit. I've heard food is very delicious when made in them.
Originally, I got this for hurricanes in order to have potable water should it become necessary, but now I am thinking it could be a great way to save energy and also have some delicious food made pretty easily (providing the sun shines that day that is).
