Getting ahead!

Lovely walk on the fells today - grey partridges, tiny chiff-chaffs, skylarks and this cheeky Greater Spotted Woodpecker getting ahead of the competition by drumming loudly on the top of the pole. The galvanised steel cap made a huge din - and by the look of it, it was his regular perch!!
