Our walk for Macmillan, and remembering JB
good nights sleep in prep for our walk. a good breakfast, juice, espresso and a sausage sarnie set me up for what i thought would be a breeze in the park! we set off from Derby Station, the weather being very kind to us. text from friends in Nottingham, said rain was awful there, but along the route we sat in the sun, with shandies, and wore t-shirts. we totally dodged the rain! i love beibng by the canals, whethers it's on my bike, or walking. we are privilaged to have such beautiful countryside on our doorsteps. some of the walkers left us at Elvaston, but about a dozen of us made it to Nottingham. my feet were sore, and i had to apply plasters at Attenborough Nature Reserve. towards the end it was bloody tough going. i've done Kilimanjaro, and ran Great North and Robin Hood Marathon, but never walked 21 miles, making this by far one of the toughest things i've done!! think i should've train more for it!! top day though, and the bliss of a G&T at Via Fosse. got picked up, and couldn't even walk to the chippy!! got in, ran bath, had bath, cheese on toast and a cuppa, tablets, tiger balm, bed......fantastic achievement by us, and a great cause, also done coincidentally on the 2nd anniversary of JB....
