Il muro

Almost a year after the first ground was moved, the retaining wall is standing - not finished mind you - but at least it looks like a wall! The planning began more than a year before the actual digging began, although we often wonder why we bothered with a plan, as the almost-finished wall bears little resemblance to what was planned. But it is lovely, and we hope it will keep the house from sliding into the ravine, at least in our lifetime.
