Right now our world here in the south of France is chock-a-block with irises. In London you know when spring has arrived when they arrive, plump and purple, in your local florist. Here you know spring has arrived when all the road-verges sprout a wild, purple/lilac/white fringe.
Mother Nature doing it for free. Isn't that fantastic?
