The Coveted Blue Dress

So I may or may not have bought this dress because it KIND OF resembles Kate Middleton's dress in her engagement photo. Just enough for me to daydream.

I hung it in the very front of my closet (which is unlike me...my closet is organized by season and frequency of wear) as a symbol of success and control, a dress to be worn while presenting my thesis to a panel of judges at the Undergraduate Research Conference.

Each time I opened my closet, I would see the dress and be instantly reminded of how close I was to that day, and how little of my thesis had been completed.

And on that fateful day, I donned my blue dress (and nude pumps, flawless!), crossed my ankles politely and waited for my turn to speak.

It was only after I spilled coffee on my lap and blushed in awkward patches across my cheeks that I remembered that I'm not Kate Middleton at all, just Cait (the great!).
