Saltwater Creek

Saltwater creek was a gold mining area on the West Coast of NZ.
Gold was discovered here in 1866 and brought thousands Of miners to the area. This rail bridge looks like it has come straight out of the past but there was work done to it in the summer.

We went to the Paroa Hotel for dinner, always great there and you get so much that Kea always gets a huge bowl of leftover fish and meat.....and her favourite...cheese.

So much for a relaxing weekend, we got to the section to find the shed had been plagued with mice so we have poured a concrete floor and spent the day cleaning and laying poison in places only mice can reach.
