Courtyard

The majestic glass-roofed courtyard between the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery and the museum of American art (I forget the official name) in late afternoon sunlight. Missing from this photo: the excellent jazz quartet playing in be background, the easels and impromptu painters (with paint for all) set up at the far end of the courtyard, and most of the people. It's a big place, beautiful all the time, and a lot of fun on the third Thursday of the month.
