Rosie the Riveter

Rosie the Riveter almost describes Mother Comfort, except she was an inspector and not the one who actually did the riveting. In her early 20's, she worked at Boeing Aircraft as a wing skin inspector while living in a boarding house in Seattle, Washington. She enjoyed telling stories of this time, and what a delight it was to find that she kept her work manual handy. It was obviously one of the most significant times in her memory. Her tale goes that she went to work and back again, rarely going out after work because of her shift. She carried a hammer to and from work on the bus for protection.
