Lamb, not ram

My friend is quite excited about her freezer full of bargain priced, bulk-buy lamb. She reckons it will last for months.
Just looking at the assortment of cuts, I'm reminded of an occasion, long ago, when the family was tucking in to lamb cutlets and Dad remarked that he much preferred lamb to ram. Oh yes...?
When he was a young lad, working in the shearing sheds, the boss would occasionally kill a spare ram to feed the men. No sane person would waste a good breeding ram in this manner, so it has to be assumed that the meat would not have been exactly 'young and tender'. So:
Roast ram for dinner
Ram chops for breakfast
Ram sandwiches for lunch
Ram curry for dinner
and breakfast
and lunch...
Apparently, if one eats a lot of ram, one can become rather 'windy'.

I'll just leave you with that picture of a shed full of windy shearers...
