Travels through Cherry's bookshelves: Generation X

Now that I've finally got all my books together again I'm enjoying rereading some of my old favourites. Was most amused to find that my 20 year old self had underlined bits and written terribly profound things in the margins!

Thankfully I've stopped doing that over the years...well...mostly.


Here's a bit I still really like -

...you can't help but be helplessly reminded of the sort of bleached kodak snapshots taken years ago and found in shoe boxes in attics everywhere. You know the type: all yellowed and filmy, always with a big faded car in the background and fashions that look suprisingly hip. When you see such photographs, you can't help but wonder at just how sweet and sad and innocent all moments of life are rendered by the tripping of a camera's shutter, for at that point the future is still unknown and has yet to hurt us, and also for that brief moment, our poses are accepted as honest...
