A Substantial Wall
Today was to be a domestic, homey sort of day before returning to work tomorrow, However I was still feeling in holiday mode and persuaded Rachel to come for a walk and an explore! We started at Farranamagh Lough, just outside Kilcrohane and walked east to the highest point, where we had a wonderful view toward Lord Bandon's Tower, then back hugging the rugged coastline. Unlike the single row stone walls that Earthdreamer and I were admiring on Sherkin Island, the walls here were incredible solid structures, beautifully crafted and really wide, so much effort to enclose such tiny fields! The sun was warm on our faces as we sat in the shelter of a rock, listening to the waves and enjoying a bit of chocolate!
