Embalse

This is the view from our upstairs study balcony.
In the far distance is Almendralejo. It's about 15 miles away.

The water you can see wasn't there when we first moved here.

About three years ago I heard a huge explosion which shook the house. When I looked out I could see a huge plume of smoke/dust exactly where this water is now.

The authorities had decided to create a new resevoir or embalse (spanish).
Last year it was a thin ribbon of blue. This year it looks like a lake.
