Danger Beware of Water

This sign rather perplexed me as I was dashing across Knutsford Moor to miss the impending rain and pick up the car from Bob Farnon's Garage on the other side of town (£280 full service and repairs on top of the 2 new tyres from them earlier this week - ouch!). Got to go to Isle of Man on the ferry early next week, and so have got to take good care of my commercial passenger Noah racing along the TT circuits in my little Megane Diesel like Jeremy Clarkson.

On that same subject of Elf and Safety, is this warning sign on the waters edge of Tatton Mere aimed at us general public or the teenagers that tend to hang around Knutsford Moor? Are they and the great unwashed that drink cheap vodka there in the evening in that much in danger - even if they both shower regularly and dilute their drinks with mixers? I had half expected it to read Beware of the Ducks until I looked closer.

Sorry I am being very facetious, as the decking has completely rotted and so it is of course dangerous to young kids (and them ducks can get pretty ferocious if they don't get their Motherspride).

Knutsford Moor of course sounds very wild and expansive - as does the River Lilly that flows through along one edge of it. All except that the Moor is more of your typical village green size, and the Lilly is about a foot deep and 3 feet wide at its most treacherous ever.

We're a small town with big ambition you could say.
