Who Did That !

Well this is me after one of my emergency simulator runs this morning and on this run I had to pass Signals at danger, a freight train on the opposite line with a hot axle box I had to make an emergency call to the signaller a brake fault on my train and to top it off even the vandals smashed my cab window so its quite good that on a single run they can throw all sorts of problems into one trip and see how you react to them this was one of the more straight forward runs as the trip with the on board fire is the hardest one for this year but all was well as I passed with flying colour's and on my verbal communications using all the phonetics that was a straight "A" which I never managed at school haha and it is quite realistic as this is the same piece of track that is in my Friday 2nd of March blip at Drem, I think Last nights Steak at the hotel at the company's expense was the best part for me but I think after the big breakfast as well it will be soup tonight though so thats my simulator assessment over for another year thankfully more rules exams back at the depot for the rest of the year as well but that's how I like it as it keeps us on our toes and we don't get complacent so a little incite into the world of what a train driver has to do and this is my blip for the day just a footnote the actual screen outside the full mock up of the cab is 30ft square and there is one of them that we used for the tilting trains on hydraulic rams that made you feel queasy on one occasion I thought I was a pilot as the computer controlling the rams got stuck with it pointing upwards as if I was at takeoff on a jet don't miss that one that's for sure.
