What is it about...
Red roses?
If florists are anything to go by, women would rather receive a bunch of red roses rather than pink or yellow or white.
The red rose has been used as a symbol throughout our history - Henry Tudor will forever be linked with his Lancastrian red rose.
Rose Red was a character in the Brothers' Grimm tale of Snow White (in which, incidentally all the dwarves were evil, so not so Disney).
There are some beautiful tea sets available with the red rose design, numerous companies have been named after the Red Rose (and not all of them in Lancashire:) ). I remember spending a little time in a radio station called Red Rose Radio in Preston. And up in our vicinity there is even a theatre company!
Which all confirms that it was the right decision for me to change this yellow rose to red:)
