Fuzz brain

Rewatching Monarch is like getting a really comforting pat on the head. It's cuddly enough to reassure you that everything will be ok, while maintaining enough wit to keep you entertained and amused. And it takes me back to high school: Saturday nights rushing to finish dinner in time to watch it, fruit and nut chocolate, and other cosy things. I can still remember specific plot points in almost every episode, despite only ever seeing it once before. That's partly because of their use of well-used plot devices, but also I think in the memorability of the characters and the care put into rounding them out.

Anyway, it's getting to that time of yet when I just need non-confronting, unchallenging tv, and this is fitting the bill perfectly.
