Mt Dreadful

Woke up this morning to a cold, very cold day. Frost everywhere, and we had to get going early. Jet boat pickup at 11.30!

So we had breakfast, bundled the kids up, although not enough it would seem, and headed off. But not before enjoying this spectacular view, what a place It was anything but dreadful (or awful - another peaks name), it was fantastic. Adam wanted to stay another night.

But it was time to go, in the cold; the kids moaned a little for the first 45 mins until we got under the trees. Understandably, it was probably -4 or 5 I'd say. The did well.

Left at 8.45, got the boat at 11.15, so a solid 2.5 hours walk. Another great 30 minute ride downriver and then back to the house to unpack, clean up, and rest out tired bodies.

Which is fairly important for me, as on Saturday I have an epic 95k ride around Lake Hawea, and right now my legs are very tired and sore. Not quite the "tapering" one would normally do. Lots of spas, resting, light stretching for the next 36 hours!

Overall, awesome 3 day trip, just fantastic, especially with the kids. Would do it again for sure!
