Gloucester gulls

On my way to pick up Helena from her first day back at the after school club in Hempsted, I went shopping at an out of town supermarket. A massive gull walked quite close to me as I was putting my shopping into the car, but flew off before I grabbed the camera.

I drove up the road to the Yip Shing supermarket to stock up on my regular supply of fresh tofu, root ginger, rice noodles and basmati rice, strangely. Again, on my way out and after stowing the goods, I looked up at a large gull on the roof of the warehouse, and this time I had a camera at hand.

It looked like the big dark cloud was about to drench the locale, as we have been having hefty showers all day. I took a couple of pictures of it on a roof ventilation outlet, which a succession of gulls seemed to have been decorating, then I looked away. As I turned back it had taken off and approached the other other bird.

I went on to the old village of Hempsted but despite a wander down the old road past the church, I couldn't find any better pictures today. I will go back to try and record the ancient cross beside the Church Farm, as it is intriguing. It wasn't that sort of day today.
