Weed

I thought I was going to get a good blip today. I was sent out to get a photo of some confiscated marijuana for a story. Big news around here, but a dull photo. No one wanted to be photographed with it, and it was drying out in a police-station garage before being sent to a lab. Looked like a rotting, dead weed. Which it was. Under fluorescent lights, at that. I'll probably even get paid the usual pittance for it, but it definitely wasn't a blip-worthy photo.

If I'm going to blip a weed, I thought I'd post one that was still buzzing with color and life.

Edit: Ha! -- my original "weed" photo was published. Can't believe they even used it, but like I said, I guess it's big news in a slow news town during a slow news week.
