3 lives saved.
There was a lifeboat shout just before lunch to rescue a group of surfers off Porthminster point. They were in seriously rough conditions and unable to paddle against the tide which can run at well over 4 knots in that area.
This was only about 200 yards from the lifeboat station so the whole thing only took about 15 minutes. The 3 surfers were deposited safely on the beach and this picture is Peter the tractor driver giving everything a thorough wash down before returning it to the boathouse.
